Moving Again

4 days until the new lease is active. I know it is the right move, but moving is still stressful, necessary but stressful.  Alexandria has been lovely and charming and walkable, worth every penny and every minute we spent here. We are just moving 6 miles away, but Arlington feels a world away. It is new to Alexandria's old. Tall to Alexandria's short. Edgy to Alexandria's charming.
The courthouse area in Arlington has a bit more concrete than the brick of Alexandria, but should be more convenient to John's work, the District joys, and Georgetown.

Back to the move. Moving means boxes, tape, packing, and sorting. De-cluttering is good for the soul and the pocketbook, and it definitely makes moving easier-less stuff means less to move.  I have boxed, sorted, cleaned out, thrown out, carried and lifted until I can't bear to do any more. Then I start again the next day.  Oh, and the address changes, which necessitate password changes, which are time consuming and not as straightforward as it was in the pre-digital age. In the pre-digital age, of course, we didn't have passwords to change and in the pre-digital age you just sent a note to your magazine subscriptions, bills, etc. with your new address and they had to fix their records. Now you have to do it, and then get the endless emails that say, hey did you really change your address, password, whatever and you can ignore some of them, and "authorize" others....

Yikes!
